Measurement

There are plenty of loneliness measurement instruments available. However, and my bias is clear, the best measurement tool is the "Belcher Extended Loneliness Scale -- Revised" (BELS-R). It is a 60 item scale that has been factor analyzed into multiple loneliness sub-scales, each of which has been validated in research. Anyone wishing to utilize the BELS-R has my consent and permission to reproduce the scale in my manuscript. I just want appropriate credit in the written report, article, paper, thesis, or dissertation. For researchers, I would like to receive a copy of the final written document, whether published or not. For those using the BELS-R for diagnosis or treatment, I would like to be notified of their use.
